The Girls in the Hall project was a collaborative project between Bay Area Teen Voices,
the Solutions Program, and the San Francisco community. In addition to having published
quarterly features in the national magazine Teen Voices, it was a travelling art exhibit that
featured the artwork and writing of girls in the juvenile justice system to communities around the
country. Jessamyn Lovell was the curator of the exhibit as well as an active participant in working
with the girls to make writing and artwork about their lives. Lovell also took documentary
photographs during her visits to the San Franciso Youth Guidance Center (SF Juvenile Hall).
Here are some of those photographs. |
